Description
Drager Short Term Detection Tubes – Acetone 100/b
Drager Short Term Detection Tubes – Acetone 100/b detect acetone and related substances in the range of 100 to 12,000 ppm. These tubes come in a pack of 10 and have a 2-year shelf life. They require 10 strokes and take about 4 minutes for measurement. The colour changes from pale yellow to yellow when acetone is present.
The tubes work in temperatures from 0 to 40°C and humidity levels of 5 to 20 mg H2O/L. They use a reaction between acetone and 2,4-Dinitrophenylhydrazine to produce a yellow hydrazine. Other ketones and aldehydes may also cause a reaction, but esters do not. Ammonia can turn the indicating layer yellowish-brown.
