What You Need to Know About Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2)

Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) is a strong disinfectant commonly used for water treatment. It effectively eliminates bacteria, viruses, and fungi, making it essential for safe drinking water in places like hotels and food facilities.

Unlike regular chlorine, ClO2 doesn’t create harmful by-products, which is a big plus. However, it’s important to handle it with care because it can be toxic and irritating to the eyes and lungs.

The gas does have a yellow-brown colour to it, but it can still be difficult to detect without the correct equipment. Here at Rockall, we have a variety of Cl02 detectors available to keep your workers safe while on site. Check out our how chlorine dioxide is used in Water & Wastewater here.
