Description
MSA ALTAIR® 5X Multigas Detector
MSA ALTAIR® 5X Multigas Detector can measure up to six gases simultaneously and now includes an integrated PID sensor for VOC detection. Powered by MSA’s advanced XCell® Sensor Technology, it offers faster response times, improved stability, enhanced accuracy, longer service life, and cost savings throughout the instrument’s lifespan.
MSA ALTAIR® 5X Multigas Detector detects a wide range of gases, including combustible gases in LEL and/or volume percentage range, oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, ammonia, chlorine, VOCs, and more, depending on the sensor configuration. The rugged overmolded polycarbonate housing offers exceptional durability, surviving drops of up to 10 feet (3m) and is IP65-certified.
The integrated, field-proven pump ensures consistent gas flow without the need for external attachments. High-performance XCell sensors offer extended longevity, with typical lifespans of over 4 years for combustible, O2, CO/H2S, SO2, CO/NO2, and high-concentration CO sensors, and over 3 years for NH3 and Cl2 sensors. Most sensors have response and clear times of less than 15 seconds.
MSA ALTAIR® 5X Multigas Detector uses about half the calibration gas normally required for calibration and bump tests. Rapid bump tests deliver results in under 10 seconds for most common configurations, while span calibration takes just 60 seconds.
Features include:
- MotionAlert to notify others if the user becomes immobile.
- InstantAlert for manual alarms to indicate potential hazards.
- A PID option for accurate VOC detection with programmable reference factors.
- Large buttons and a bright display for easy operation, even with gloves.
- An exclusive end-of-sensor warning that alerts users when the sensor is nearing the end of its lifespan.
- Compatibility with MSA Link™ Software for easy data transfer to a computer.
- Integration with the GALAXY® GX2 Test System.
