Crowcon Vortex FP and Vortex FP Compact: Reliable Flameproof Gas Detector Control Panels
The Crowcon Vortex FP and Vortex FP Compact are ATEX-certified Exd flameproof gas detector control panels designed for use in Zone 1 or Zone 2 hazardous environments, such as offshore production platforms and refineries. These panels combine robust construction with advanced features, ensuring safe and efficient gas detection in challenging conditions.
Both models include all the standard features of the Crowcon Vortex range and are equipped with a display fitted with magnetic switches. This allows users to interrogate or inhibit the system without needing to open the enclosure, simplifying maintenance and increasing safety.
Simple to Use
Designed with user convenience in mind, all daily operations can be performed via push buttons on the front panel. This eliminates the need for hot-work permits for routine tasks, streamlining operations. The front panel also features fault and alarm LEDs, providing clear and immediate indication of system status. Alarm and channel settings are easily adjustable directly from the panel, allowing quick system customisation as needed.
Highly Flexible
The Vortex FP is available in two sizes, including a compact version ideal for installations where space is limited. It uses Crowcon Vortex PC software, ensuring a user-friendly and customisable interface. For integration with larger systems, the control panels support industry-standard Modbus RTU communication links, with optional Profibus support, enabling seamless connection to PLC, DCS, or SCADA control systems.

The panels are built to withstand harsh environments, offering water and dust resistance to IP66 standards. Continuous relay monitoring ensures full functionality, providing a reliable solution for critical safety applications.
