Training methods:

The Mewp harness use and inspection course combines both theoretical instruction and practical training to fully prepare delegates for their assessment. Participants will engage with printed course materials, observe practical demonstrations, and participate in hands-on training sessions. The training is designed and delivered in accordance with BS 8454:2006, which sets the code of practice for training and education in work at height and rescue.

Assessment criteria:

Participants must pass a multiple-choice theory exam, achieving a minimum score of 80%, which requires answering at least 16 out of 20 questions correctly. The trainer will also assess each delegate’s ability to conduct pre-use inspections, correctly fit a harness, and properly use fall protection equipment. This comprehensive Mewp harness use and inspection training ensures participants are well-prepared to work safely in MEWPs.
