The Spyglass™ IR3 Optical Flame Detector from Teledyne is a high-performance flame detection solution designed specifically for hydrocarbon fires. Utilizing a triple infrared (IR) sensor design operating in the 4.0 to 5.0 μm wavelength range, the Spyglass™ IR3 detector provides reliable and rapid detection of hydrocarbon fires involving natural gas, gasoline, diesel, and other hydrocarbon fuels.
One of the key features of the Spyglass™ IR3 – Optical Flame Detector is its ultra-fast detection mode, which can respond within 40 milliseconds to fireballs or explosions. For standard fires up to 30 meters, the detector can provide flame detection in less than 1.5 seconds, ensuring a prompt response to potential fire hazards.
The Spyglass™ IR3 – Optical Flame Detector offers an optional built-in video camera, available in either colour (RGB) or near-infrared format. This video technology allows for visualization of hydrocarbon fires, which are often nearly invisible to the human eye. The video capture feature records one minute before the alarm and up to three minutes after the fire event, providing valuable visual information for analysis and response.
